Chickie

I'm struggling to focus on children's illustration* again, but I figure it's okay because I am making art. It's really relaxing to just play with all of the supplies in your closet and let your hands go.

Anyhoo, this is a baby shower gift for someone who's having a girl. Her nursery is all pink and brown, with retro circles. I figured this little chickie would fit right in.

The little blossoms are based on the snowdrop, the birth flower for January and when the baby is due to make her appearance. I really like painting on these round canvases.

I'm off to paint a raincloud while this wonderful weekend still lasts. Hope you're having a lovely weekend as well!

(*Now that I think of it, why don't you head on over to the Soup Blog? Leeza's been getting busy over there. I'd like to participate, but you know...;P)

This is adorable! Love the detail of the eye and ring and how they pop against the pink.

I really, really love your cameos in the previous post, too. Those are really awesome.

OK, so I meant wing, not ring. WING! Grr.

PS Happy Holidays! We had to put an XT gate around our Christmas tree to keep the little one from wreaking havoc on it. Ah, the toddler years. Exasperating, but TONS of fun. ;0)
