Okay, so I've waited until the very last possible moment....but it couldn't be helped! I had so many great ideas, I was trying to work on almost all of them! Then, while I was sitting at the dentist's office earlier this evening, I kind of zoned out while waiting for the doc to show up. This is what popped into my head. (I'm too wiped out from work to paint it, and the night's almost over. ) It's a girl in a sea of clothes. They whip around her as the wind is kicking up. Meanwhile, she stares off into the distance. At what I wonder?
Well, I finally finished the idea I had for last week's I-Fri topic. As always, my scanner does not do justice to the actual shading and vibrancy of color; I'm pretty happy with it regardless. This is definitely one of my "top" pieces in my portfolio.
I really like the concept. The sketch makes me feel the wind. What IS she looking at???
ReplyDeleteI really love the idea, the clothes will make great templates for patterns and colors. :)
ReplyDeletegreat idea! love it!!!
ReplyDeleteThat's how I feel right now...if you could only see my laundry basket! Great sense of motion, and real feeling of being caught in a sea of waving clothes. Good job:>
ReplyDeleteThis is great Dee! I feel almost swept away by the wind and i can imagine the feeling of the clothes around me, struggling to peg them on the line!
ReplyDeleteLove the different textures of the clothes and movement through her hair. well done!
This came out really great. Although, the finished looks like you should have legs showing underneath the laundry flying.
ReplyDeleteIn your sketch you had it cropped, which really worked well!
You're right Roz. I thought maybe I could get away with it, since there's a silhouette through the sheet(it's better in person), but there still needs to be a little bit of something showing under the sheet. I'll crop it until I can fix it! :) Thanks for the suggestion.
ReplyDeleteIt really is a great piece for your port!
