Night, n. - the quality or state of being dark

Here it is! I've had this great idea since Saturday, but haven't had a chance to get to it until tonight. (Has that ever happened to you?) I was chomping at the bit trying to clear time so that I could put it to paper.
Anyway, here it is. (I'm not too happy with the animals, but I figure I can always rework them.) Two little girls are having a little fun playing with shadows while they're out camping. Little do they know that they have an audience!

  1. I think this is adorable! You've done an excellent job creating the shadows and the light from within, and I really do like the animals. I know what you mean abotu clearing time to get the idea onto paper:> Well, I'm glad you found the time; this is great!

very cute, and a great idea. i love the animals watching the show. you do a great job using colors (something very important to me). i wouldn't rework the animals they work very well with the style you are using. "perfecting" them could cause them to stand out in an unusual way. you knew what you were doing even if you didn't realize it.

  15. Thanks so much everyone for your kind words. I tried very hard to get the colors and the lighting "just right." Everytime I thought I was finished, I noticed something else! It was fun though, and believe it or not I actually wanted to start over! I'm glad I didn't.

-Carla, I did check out your friend's picture; it's fantastic! Thanks for the reference. I also enjoy seeing various interpretations of similar ideas. (this probably explains why I have so many copies of "Alice in Wonderland")
-LD, it's not a memory but was invoked from my enjoyment of camping and the great night skies we have out here.
-Frizz, you flatter me so! I can say that you also cause me to constantly make sure I am bringing my "A" game to everything I do. Your Illos are so fresh and fun! Thanks again.
