This was the first sketch I had. Bewildered frogs all over....
I looked at the sketch, and I thought about it. I mean, this could be not just different, this could be funny! (In a "I'm laughing at your pain" kind of way.) So then I came up with this sketch:
Poor froggies! They're helpless against the wrath of those clever bubbles! There's nothing they can do! And the final version, done in watercolor (which you can't see the delightful lime green color of the frogs, nor the magenta and turquoise swirls in the bubbles- stupid scanner! NO more transparent paints for me!) with a little bit of pencil.
I'm okay with this, but not ecstatic. It's not just the color, but the background and lack of depth kind of bother me. Maybe I'll redo later. What do you think? (I recommend clicking on the picture, you can see it more clearly.)
This is the most imaginative and wonderful IF entry so far - your frogs are magical ... I'm floating around :)

ReplyDeletei love it!! so funny and unique, poor little froggies. As far as scanning it in, I take pics of my watercolors with my digital camera and use fade correction in JascPaintshop pro, it brings the colors back to their original quality.
