Flight-n.: The act or process of flying through the air by means of wings.

He wishes! (I don't think his fat butt will let him.)

I don't know why, but my lovely little rhino is appearing in jaundiced glory now that he's been scanned. Let me just say that here at home, as I gaze at the original, (smiling at the lovely granny apple green rhino adorning the page) I can't help but wonder what the heck happened with my scanner! I think part of it may be that this picture is actually a watercolor. Maybe the transculent quality of the pigment affects how it scans. Who knows?
Anyway, I just wanted to post this little guy. I am so thrilled at this week's Illustration Friday topic! I have actually started an entire series based on the doodles I started earlier this week from this topic. I'm not posting them here so that I can use them later on for self-promotion purposes. (I'm sure you some of you guys can relate.) Anyway, feel free to comment. I had a lot of fun creating ol' Verdi.

Dear MaeFlower, I came across your blog via IF, where I carefully scan EVERY entry hoping to find good things... bingo! Your art is consistantly well done and creative. I have enjoyed reading the blog from beginning to present. Having also been "an educator" (ASL personal interpretor) during the jr. & high school years, I parrot what my Dr. says: ART SAVES LIVES! Good luck and don't let the hormones get you down. I am looking forward to good things from you often.

your shiny rhino reminds me a little bit on Walt Disney's Elliot. His expression is really charming. And to answer your comment shortly: I'm also glad about having i-fri. Somehow I'm getting more and more convinced, social engagement and arts are a perfect match!

Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to comment!
