"Chicken (n): a domestic fowl." I can't think of anything more domestic than tea, can you?
And here are a few more chickens from the past:
And if you can't get enough of chickens, then I highly recommend Beatrice Rodriguez's Chicken Thief. It's a charming little book that quickly became one of my favorites last year.
hee hee, 'domestic'. Love the pun! Great colors. The eye contact really makes the piece.
ReplyDeleteHehe, they're all great!
ReplyDeleteI love looking at all of them :-)))))
ReplyDeletehahahah i love it! your tea one is adorable and i love the chicken thief cover. :)
ReplyDeleteVery nice all, my favorite is tea time and the cook.
ReplyDeleteLove the fox and chicken having tea:)
ReplyDeletevery cool pieces! terrific colors!
ReplyDeletethey're all wonderful. I like the cook and her helper chicks.
ReplyDeleteIt turned out beautifully, and I love all the other chicken art!!! The CHicken Thief looks fab, I'll have to check it out! :)
ReplyDeleteI love looking at each one! Great job D!!
ReplyDeleteThat top image is my fave. Their expression and closeness suggests a friendly relationship, but there's something... dare I say sordid?... about how they're staring into each other's eyes... Maybe I watch too many soap operas!
ReplyDeletefun illustrations! I love the cooking chicken, and the whole scene there. also do so love the fox and tea! cute work! xo
ReplyDeleteChristina, well I was trying to suggest listening intently...but if you want to imagine a more lustful scene, feel free! LOL!
ReplyDeleteAnd thanks for the feedback, everyone. The top picture is my most recent piece. The jumping chick is the oldest, followed by the rooster, then the kitchen hen. The fact that the top and bottom have been the favorites confirms I'm heading in the right direction! :)
