I am very aware that "verdicious" may not be an actual word. However, one of my favorite books is "Verdi" by Janell Cannon. It's all about a snake who doesn't fit in, partially because he isn't green-hence...
I digress. This is a shot of all the lovely green hues I have been considering painting the room in our new house that is to become my studio/sanctuary. I will make art in this room as well as re-read my hundreds of books. Which shade do you like? I'm leaning towards the one that's second from the left.
In other news: School starts on Wednesday! Saints preserve me, I am in trouble! It's not because it's a new year. No, it's because I'm still unpacking in my new house, my classroom and attending all of these beginning-of-the-year bloody meetings. It's because the woman that was in my classroom prior to my taking residence left everything she'd ever acquired in her five years of teaching PLUS all of the crap the teacher before her left! So, even though I've been in my room since August 1st- I have just been able to get to my belongings and resources this week. I have just set up the areas of the room (reading corner, assignments center, FYI board, etc.) and now need to hang all bajillion of my posters, figure out my desk arrangement, assigned seats and my first day spiel. I just received my folder kids and discovered that 5 out of the 10 are all in my largest class, in the last class period of the day. Fab-U-lous!
Thank goodness the two women I am aligned with are so awesome, because this week's lesson plans are one thing I don't have to worry about. *sigh*
If I could just have another week to get ready, I'd be okay.
