Holiday, int.v.- to take or spend a holiday

I'm frantically painting my current idea for this week's topic of Holiday. I wasn't able to get a solid idea until this morning, and as I was painting it, I realized it needed another change. So, I changed it and I'm back to square one, painting. I still wanted to post the rough draft- just in case.
My idea of holiday is getting the opportunity to spend time with loved ones: friends and family. Here we see a gathering of furry friends, reveling in each other's company. I just may use this as a card next Christmas!
Here's the painted version! For some reason it scanned in a little fuzzy. Oh well, it gives the animals texture. :)

  1. Dee, this looks very cute! I love drawings of little animals looking all sweet and happy. It'll be fun to see the finished painting. I don't know about you, but sometimes these illusrations take a long time to do - from getting the idea to finishing it off in color, etc. Anyway, I hope you had a Happy Christmas, and best wishes for a Happy New Year:>

  3. Thanks you guys! I completely agree about the time issue. I still want to go back and redo this picture. The head and antler placement bugs me. (figures!) Carla, you have 76 comments! How crazy is that? See how much your work impacts people? :)
